I'm looking for people who had the foresight to film evidence of the said crime on their camcorder. Hmm... Theft from a hotel room... It would indeed require foresight to get that on the camcorder... 'Hang on a sec, Mr Burglar, I can't get the zoom to work... Yes, yes, keep stashing the jewellery, I'll be with you in a minute... Ah! There we are... Now, give me sneaky... No! Stop smirking inanely like that!... Cut! Start again.'
Or are we thinking something along the lines of 'Here we are at the snorkelling class... And this is that folk-singing evening we went to. Sorry there isn't any sound; I don't know what happened to it... And this is us nicking the hotel towels! Yes, there they go, into the case!'?

Leave him alone, Alsky, he's a researcher for Granada Television.

The only thing I find really disturbing is the idea of holidaymakers witnessing a mugging and thinking how fortuitous it was that they had their camcorder with them so that they could film the event as it happened in front of them.
