Thanks Chip exactly what I was looking for and I feel a little bit euphoric in that my deduced dates for the two LPs was pretty good.
Kind of interesting the time gap in their releases, nothing between 1965 and 1971 . Wonder why, that gap was kind of the heyday of the retail store sponsored Christmas Album releases.

Yes Steve, that period of the late 1960s was indeed the heyday of the retail store sponsored custom-made 'collector's series'
Christmas compilation LP releases. And the five year gap in the JC Penney sponsored LP releases
between 1966 and 1970 is quite unusual. My guess has always been that
perhaps they just felt they couldn't compete with the Goodyear, Grants
and Firestone releases, which were very popular at the time. There were also other retail sponsored releases
at the time, including those from the BF Goodrich and True Value Hardware.

Yes , like I mentioned that retail sponsored niche is one that I just kind of like and found many Various Artist Compilations. there are just a huge number of them and I keep stumbling on more, I am kind of down to the one of a kinds now. The Fanny Farmer , Drambuie, EF Macdonald and on and on. I spend more time looking at the back of the LPs in the thrift stores now looking for the Specially Made for comments than I do on the covers and artists.
The other hard part if trying to understand how many LPs out there were sponsored by Retail , but they only put a sticker claiming that on the shrink wrap and of course the shrink wrap in most cases is long gone. Firestone did that late in their Christmas LP releases.
Anyway thanks for the info.

IIRC, Bing even had a 'one of a kind' that was him in a LayZboy chair and songs culled from various LP's.

This is the one from Fanny Farmer I mentioned. It specifically a Bing Crosby one. Sorry for the shrink wrap ripples in the picture. Like the other the playlist appears to be taken for a lot of other LPs. Not exactly sure of the date on this one. Again its an MCA with the arrow logo (Message edited by Steve_OGO On 04/12/2012 07:22)

A little off topic here, but those last few postings on the Bing Crosby albums reminded me of something.
First, concerning Steve's comment about the shrink wrap... Years ago when I was in school - and many years before the CD when all we had were albums - a friend of mine who lived in my dorm told me to always remove the shrink wrap because it can build up heat and cause warping. Prior to that, I used to always leave it on to protect the cover. I should add that my friend also warned me of the dangers of stacking records on top of one another. After all, it was the '70s when they used to have those stackable turntable spools which used to make my friend cringe. See, who says you don't learn anything in college? So now I'm wondering how the music aficionados on this board store the albums in their collections.
Secondly, about Bing Crosby... Last year I ordered the DVD containing four of his annual Christmas specials. The first one, from 1961, really surprised me for its lack of Christmas songs. I guess in those days a Christmas special was just a regular show which happened to be on in December. Things really have changed in that regard. I can remember as a kid what a rarity it was to see a house decorated for Christmas before the 9th or 10th of December. These days, you're falling behind if your decorations aren't up by Thanksgiving, and, by now, we've all come to expect Christmas music on the radio in early November.

Honoring the music of the Yule Log...
An era when that sound on your radio was music and it was called Beautiful Music for a reason.

I have the La-Z Boy Chair album and asked about it if a previous post http://forum1.aimoo.com/theyulelog/YULE-LOG-HOLIDAY-MUSIC/Question-about-Songs-Of-Christmas-by-Bing-Crosby-1-1018770.html
But at that time we, Chip and I could only figure it was released sometime in the 1960's along with 2 other DECCA Compliation Albums.
But now, from Chip's post here, I believe the album was released in 1960. I had sort-of guessed because of the hairstyle and the cothing.
Steve/OGO aslo knows I have the Fanny Farmer one being I got it from him lol. Though we are getting of-topic, Bing also did a Christmas album on Warner Brothers Records. "I Wish You A Merry Christmas" WS 1484 in 1962

Wow,
So much confusion over this Bing Crosby Album. I tried going by other Album Numbers, but now your new information and being you're not quite sure, I will have to leave the date blank for now.
Maybe one of us here will find out exactly when it was released.

Chip,
You really go above and beyond the call of duty when helping us out here and I want to thank you again for all your help and also the immense information you provide. I'm sure it's not an easy task, especially where there is limited or conflicting information and you have to ascertain by elimination to try and determine the year an album was released.
Kudos to you Chip

I don't know if this is a system glitch or not, but I couldn't get the Thumbs Up or Thank You Smileys to work by clicking on them so I had to copy and paste to put them in my post.

Thanks Chip,
When I use Google Chrome to visit the website, the countdown clock is blank with an "X" and I can't install the plug-in being it is already built into Google Chrome. With Internet Explorer, when trying to resize an image and get it exactly square, it's nearly impossible, but when I use Mozilla/Firefox, and I am dragging the image to resize it, I can see the number of pixels so I am able to make the image the same height and width.
Also on my desktop computer running Windows-XP, the "Wide Colon" doesn't show up but instead I see the HEX Code for it in Internet Explorer and just a square when I use Mozilla/Firefox. I had discussed this in a previous topic. But on my notebook computer, running Windows 7, I don't have any problems with FONTS, but it wasn't limited to Aimoo, I would have FONT problems on other websites too.
