As the holiday season is now past, I was wondering how Christmas Day fared for WPIX, airing four hours of the Yule Log, and showing "March Of The Wooden Soldiers". Of course, I hope it was a ratings knockout....

Welcome to the board, Brye.

As soon as I have the ratings for the broadcast, I'll post them on this thread.

It should be sometime next week.

I am interested in the ratings for the WGN America Yule Log shown Christmas Eve  and the REAL Yule Log shown Christmas morning on WGN America. I was happy we were able to see it at all, but I was a bit ticked that they cut it off mid song at 11:00 am because the previous program (Midnight Mass) went over its alloted time. Hopefully next year we will get a full version. I don't care if its on at 3:00 am....I just record it and watch it when I want to!!!

I am anxious to see the WGN America ratings too. I will post those here as well.

And yes, the way they ended the program in the middle of Percy Faith's "Deck The Halls" was deplorable. For God's sake, they could have at least waited for the song to finish before pulling the plug.

While it was a great victory last month in getting WGN to air our original program, it was a partial one since they only showed half the program. However, after all the acrimony they endured as a result of their initial decision not to show it, I am confident that next Christmas they'll not only show it, but they'll show it in its entirety as well. And just to be sure, I'll begin lobbying them right after Labor Day to do just that.

By the way, as far as endings go, WPIX wasn't any better: they ended the program in the middle of Percy Faith's "Gesu Bambino." But keep in mind, the fourth hour they aired was just a repeat of the first hour, so WPIX did indeed show the entire program.

Hello Everyone!!

I've been away for awhile and I missed the fun of chatting with all of you. I hope all of you had a great Christmas, and I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather and are ready for the summer. I missed a lot of what was going on - I did not even know the board was down for awhile. Chip, the changes you have made to the board and the website overall are great (I love the return of the Christmas Countdown Clock). I'm still a little new to it all but I will catch up. Right now, I'm trying to catch up on all the posts I've missed.

Please remind us when you begin to lobby everyone at WGN. I will join in with you. Hopefully, as you stated, the folks at WGN will remember what happened this past Christmas and will air the entire Yule Log this Christmas. It was great that they realized the error of their ways and aired our Yule Log even though they only aired half the program. But, cutting out in the middle of Percy Faith's "Deck the Halls" was terrible. They could have let the song reach its conclusion and bow out gracefully, but....

Once again Chip, great job on all the changes and improvements to the board and website!

Hi everyone and hope you're all having a great 2009!  We're almost halfway to another Christmas!  The June weather has been so cool and wet that if baseball weren't on TV right now, I'd think we were closer to Christmas than July 4th!

Last week, I was at a cruise night in downtown Toms River with lots of classic cars and of course, an Elvis impersonator.  He sang "Blue Christmas".  That makes it the first time I heard it this year!

When NFL training camps open in July, I'll know Christmas is coming.  Have a great summer!

Chip, great job with the improvements!
