Merry Christmas Everyone.  During a few songs, there was a glitch, almost as if it was on a VHS tape, and there was a tracking problem (That is the only way I can describe it)  the video was fine, just the audio had a glitch I hope that it was just something with WGN, and not WPIX.

WGN didn't even say anything about the Yule Log.  At the 2-hour mark, they went right into their paid programming right at the end of Bring A Torch Jeannette Isabella.  Then they put on the screen The following is a paid announcement.  They didn't mention WPIX or anything either at the beginning or the end.  I wish I could've seen the WPIX broadcast, but alas, DirecTV doesn't carry WPIX in my area because we have a local CW & MyTV network and they aren't owned by Tribune.  Anyway's Merry Christmas to everyone.

Susan,

I noted elsewhere in a post of my own that the WGN broadcast just ended, mid-song, going right to the "The following is a paid advertisment" logo, and then an informercial.

I hadn't mentioned it, but I also experienced some glitches during the WGN broadcast, most notably some spots where the sound just dropped out.  I didn't know if it was just the satellite feed.  I also wasn't watching from the beginning, so I don't know how often it happened, or how much.  When did you see the tracking problem that you mention?

Hi Ed, It wasn't really a tracking problem, but more of the audio fading like you mentioned.  The picture quality stayed the same, but every once in a while it was as if the audio faded or slowed down for a 1/2 second or something.  I Tivo'd it but haven't watched it completely through yet.  I was hoping that at the last minute WGN would've changed their mind and would air the whole 3 horus, but alas, right during "Bring A Torch Jeannette Isabela" they went right to the paid programming.  i watched the very beginning and then advanced the vidio on my TIVO and listened every few minutes and then went to the 2 hour mark and that is when they went to the paid programming.  I will try to listen to the whole 2 hours later and write down where I heard the glitches.

Yes, sadly, the WGN broadcast had transmission problems. The source is undetermined. I stayed up all night to watch the debut of our restored presentation (albeit abbreviated) and monitor the broadcast for any potential problems.

Needless to say, I was quite concerned until the premier on WPIX a few hours later; it played flawlessly - at least audibly. Visually however, my sight was compromised by the tears that welled in my eyes as the import of the reality that a dream fulfilled had actually come to pass.
