Tonight's the night the Christmas season goes into full swing!  The great Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will be lit at about 9 PM.  You can watch it on NBC at 8 PM (ET).  In New York, Channel 4 will begin coverage at 7 PM.  It will also be streamed on www.nbcnewyork.com.

What was once a 15 minute telecast that interrupted the local news has become a major event.  I was just watching Channel 4 and the crowds are already there.  150,000 spectators are expected.  Somehow, it isn't quite Christmas until that big tree is lit.  Last night, the Christmas tree in Bryant Park was lit.  It's nice, but it's Rockefeller Center's little brother.

Enjoy the show everybody, wherever you are!  I'll definitely be making my annual visit.  Dean & De Luca's, here I come!
