Sadly, that only leaves Johnny Mathis, Mitch Miller, Ed Ames, Ray Charles and Vic Damone as the only living artists left from the Yule Log soundtrack.

By the way, speaking of good old Mitch, he'll be 99 on July 4th!

Chip, I wish you were right on the button as usual.   Unfortunately, Ray Charles is no longer with us either.

It's so sad that the people who gave us all these wonderful memories have pretty much gone to their rest.   It's a reminder how quickly life passes.

On the bright side I love to log on and see the number of days dwindle away.   It never fails to make me smile as we draw closer.

  Be well all.    Mark C

Mark,

The Ray Charles that I am referring to (and who appears on the Yule Log soundtrack) is commonly referred to as the "other" Ray Charles -- and he is very much alive. In fact, he will be 92 in September.

This Ray Charles is an arranger/conductor who was the founder and leader of the great 1950s/60s chorale group The Ray Charles Singers. Mr. Charles is also a singer and songwriter. In fact, anyone who knows the classic 1970s comedy show Three's Company (starring John Ritter) knows the work of this "other" Ray Charles, as he was the male lead singer on the show's theme song Come And Knock On Our Door.

The Ray Charles Singers appear twice on the Yule Log soundtracksong #24 (Here We Come A-Caroling) and song #29 (We Wish You A Merry Christmas).

Chip I had no idea there was another gifted "Ray Charles" among us.   I just assumed that the Ray Charles singers were from the same gifted gent who gave us, "Hit the Road Jack", "Georgia on My Mind" and so many others.

Glad to hear that I am wrong and that there is another Ray Charles alive and wel.    May he live to 192 !

Thank you for clearing up my misunderstanding.   Be well Chip, and the the same to all.    Mark C
