Chip,

I noticed today that when I came to the message board that certain words in the topic section were highlighted and if you move the cursor over them, a pop-up window with an ad comes up, and then there were also messages such as "Your computer may be infected, click here to continue"  Also, there was a video advertisement playing at the bottom of the page.

I don't believe it is just my computer but could be because my McAfee doesn't always catch adware, but from what I understand from managing other websites in the past, if you don't pay the host, there will be certain words hyperlinked so that a pop-up ad will show and so on.  So there is a slight possibility that there is Malware on my computer.  I haven't found an Security Software program that really protects you from everything.  Norton has missed viruses, AVG allows Malware to get by and so does McAfee.  I've tried Panda Software and a few others.  Even the free program from Microsoft, I can't think of the name right now doesn't catch everything.

Susan    I have not been infected lately with the issue you mention.   The words that appear in green and if you roll over them they pop up an ad or something I have had before.   In my case it was an infection.  It was my computer or browser and not a problem with the site.   Look for programs like edeals , ideals  that got loaded on your machine.   Get rid of those,  then its just matter of brutal cleaning using Malaware Adwcleaner  etc,  use several.   Also look for strange add ons in your browser and turn them off or get rid of them.   Lastly if you do not have it already  install an add on called AdBlock.   I spent hours figuring out what I had to do to especially get rid of edeals,  it is a real pest.  It mutates and what you have might be different than what help sites tell you to do.

Susan,

I checked on this and everything seems to be fine, so the problem must be on your end. If you have another computer and the same thing should happen, please let me know and I'll immediately take it up with Aimoo.
