I have an old copy of the YL on audio cassette tape I believe from either 1987 or 88. Unfortunately, part of the spoken intro was accidentally erased but the station breaks(which lopped off parts of the songs) are still intact. It was a 2 and half hour showing that I recorded from WPIX FM onto 1 90 minute tape. I always wondered who the voice was on those station breaks. It sounded somewhat like Casey Kasem. I would be glad to post the audio but I don't know how.

First of all, congrats to you -- Richiedoo, for hitting the 50 post mark and achieving Golden Member status on the board.

Now, to address your latest post and inquiry, which is a good question about who the staff announcers were for the Yule Log broadcasts:

WPIX used several different staff announcers over the years between 1966 and 1989 for its annual Yule Log presentations. Two of these men were Ralph Lowenstein and Bill Littauer. The list of announcers does not include Casey Kasem.

Hey Guru thanks for answering my question and for recognizing my "gold member" status. I know it was you that posted the audio to that small part of "May You always" by Harry Harrison. Therefore,I was hoping you could give me a crash course on how to post that audio that I have. I would like you to hear it since that man's voice does sound pretty familiar. If it's too complicated, forget it!

No problem. I'm going to send you a private email on this off the board.

However, be sure to check your spam folder; sometimes emails that I send using my Yule Log.com email address are filed as spam.
