Well, after reading the latest news from Joe (by the way, THANKS again Joe fora GREAT site and work) about when WPIX will air the Yule Log, I must say I'm disapointed and a bit angry.I really thought (okay, hoped) that the suits would realize Christmas Eve is a SATURDAY--the one night the WB Network does NOT have programming. In addition, for the past several weeks, WPIX has been airing old movies from 8 to 10 pm on Saturday nights! In order to bring back the Log on Christmas Eve, I, for one, would not mind some sort of commerical break on the hour if that is needed to pay for it to air today.7am? On Christmas morning? Come on.

I am not sure why WPIX has chosen to broadcast The Yule Log at 7 a.m. It seems like a rather ill conceived idea, however, I will be up watching it! I might gripe that I have to get up so early, but it better then the alternative of not having the Yule Log to watch at all.

I hope that PIX will at least bump the Log back to 8 a.m. next year.

The other question is...and forgive me if I missed the answer...is the Log still 4 hours?  If so, 7 am or 8 am, people will still see most of it.  Of course, some of us can't do less than be there from the very beginning!
Question...is this the earliest the YL has ever been seen?  I seem to remember sometime in the '80s when it at least felt like it was earlier than 8.

There were Christmas mornings when it started at 7 AM, and I believe there was a time or two when it even started at 6 AM. I'll ask Joe to check his old TV Guides and one of us will let you know.

WELL I LIVE IN DETROIT & DO NOT GET WPIX, BUT I GET WGN FROM CHICAGO. TAKE A LOOK WHEN I GET TO WATCH IT, JUST REMEMBER CHICAGO IS CENTRAL TIME ZONE, I LIVE IN EASTERN.

Special: The Yule Log
12/25 (late 12/24) 1:30-4:30am
This tradition, created in 1966 by WPIX-TV New York, gives the holiday charm of a fireplace with Christmas music.

SO FROM 2:30 AM CHRISTMAS MORNING TO 5:30 AM CHRISTMAS MORNING. I WOULD MUCH PREFER THE WPIX TIME SLOT, EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT ON CHRISTAMS EVE.

TO JOE, ALL HIS FAMILY & ALL THE MEMBERS OF THIS GREAT WEBSITE, I WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & A BLESSED & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
