I think You'd mentioned in "A Log's Life",but,in case you didn't,Fred and his partner,if you look closely at the mantle's two guards,is barely shown,with the camera,filming the Precious footage,their reflections in the ball-like tops.

Micheal,

I just watched this on Saturday from my DVD copy I made from when I DVR'd "A Logs Life"  If you are referring to the balls or what would be the Andiron tops, it was Mitch Thrower, Fred's son, during one of the segments that said something along the lines that he didn't know for sure if his father was there for the California Shoot or not, but if you look closely at the andirons, you can see some movement in the reflection of them and he would like to think it was his father and actually stepping back into time and he would always watch the andiron's closely to maybe get a glimpse of his father.

I'm not stating it verbatim, but it was something close to what I mentioned.  If you are referring to something else, please excuse the intrusion.  Chip might remember it verbatim, but I don't know for sure.

It would have been virtually impossible for that reflection in the top of the andirons to be that of Fred Thrower because he wasn't there.

The only ones that went out to California for the 1970 re-shoot were producer Bill Cooper and his crew of technicians.

Chip,

Was my summation close?  I know that Mitch said he wasn't sure if his father was there or not, but obviously he wasn't.

Yes, your summation was pretty close. He speculated that he thought one of the images reflected in the andirons might possibly be that of his father, but then conceded that he didn't even know whether his father was even there or not.

As I said in my previous post, the only ones present for the re-shoot in California were producer Bill Cooper and his technical crew, so the reflection no doubt is of one of them.

It's too bad that they couldn't do something like you see on CSI where they can take a reflected image and computer enhance it so they get a clear picture of a suspect, but that pretty much only happens in TV.

But can you imagine if it were possible to actually do that?  But I think too, the lights used for the shoot would have impeded the clearing up of the image as those are also reflected in the andirons.

{EDITED by Christmas Always to fix a typo and add punctuation and words which changed the meaning of a sentence so it makes sense when reading it}
