Hi All,Hope the cool evening air finds everyone well and anxiously awaiting another Christmas and, of course, another Yule Log. I know that many of you are from the NY area I was wondering if someone had any idea as to when Fortunoff's Department store opens its Christmas Store. As a Christmas "superfan" I always look forward to this event as an unofficial start my Christmas/Yule Log countdown. I know its only September and it may sound a bit odd(at least my wife thinks so) but since many of you are real authorities on all things Christmas, I was just wondering if someone might know.Cheers,Bob

Welcome back to the board Bob!

The Fortunoff that's near me in Woodbridge officially opens its Christmas Department on October 14, 2006. Since I didn't know what store you were located near, I called to get the other store's official opening dates, and here they are:

*Wayne - October 21, 2006

*White Plains - October 21, 2006

*Westbury - October 14, 2006

Thanks for the warm welcome back Guru and even bigger thanks for the quick information. Wow!!! You make me remember why I joined this board. Thanks so much for everything. Here's to another great Yuletide season.....even if it is only September(honestly, I've been in the Christmas state of mind since about July).

Christmas Cheers,

Bob

Guru is actually Santa Claus. I found him a couple of years ago rummaging through CBS-FMs music library looking for old WPAT records.

We never doubted your loyalty Pal o' mine.

What's more, since you have indeed been with us from the beginning, I'll speak to Joe about getting you a free mambo lesson with Carlos Sanchez.

Olé!

Just wanted to let everyone know, Guru was absolutely correct on the official launch date of the Fortunoff Christmas Store, but I was there last weekend and, to my great surprise, many of their displays were already set up. I can only speak for their Westbury, LI location but it really made my day. For those of you out there who look forward to their seaonal store and the cool displays that go with it I just figure I'd let you know.
Cheers,
