Hello everyone,
The other day I started thinking about the filming of the famous 1970 WPIX Yule Log and I have to admit that I am very curious about the house it was filmed in and the nice people who allowed WPIX to film there.  The only thing I know is that it was shot in 1970 on hot August day in the Palo Alto, CA area.  Is this all of the information that is available??

I can't help but wonder what the rest of the home looks like from inside and outside.  Is it in a cramped suburb or on a large plot of land?  Was it a wealthy family?  Were the people that owned the home young enough to still be alive today 42 years later?  If so, do they still live there?  If not, do all of the owners that followed know how famous their fireplace is???   I don't know about you guys, but I get pretty curious about stuff like this.

If anyone else has any additional information about this mysterious home please share!! :)

We have spent many years trying to track this information down, but unfortunately the two people that would categorically know, Fred Thrower (former WPIX VP/GM and creator of the Yule Log) and Bill Cooper (the producer of the Yule Log), are now both deceased. I have spoken to Bill's wife, Kay, about this but she doesn't know as well. As for the home the 1970 re-shoot took place in, all we know is that it was located in Palo Alto California and the re-shoot took place in August.

If you would like to see a little more of the house the 1970 re-shoot took place in, I have 7 pictures posted on my Yule Log.com website's Photo section that were provided by Kay Cooper from her private collection:
