Chip - Did you ever post or cover anything on your site about the Quinto Sisters album?

I just picked up a copy of it on vinyl (I knew it was a very rare LP - took me two years to find a mint copy at a decent price) as it intrigued me since they recorded the first version of "A Holly Jolly Christmas".

P.S. The album also features several other tracks that ended up in the Rankin Bass "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" TV special. What was their connection to The Quinto Sisters?

Yes, over the years I have talked about the girls several times on the board before. In previous posts, among other things, I have mentioned that their 1964 Christmas LP is one of the albums that I am working to get released on CD for the first time (it is only currently available as a download from Sony). I also mentioned that the girls were the very first to sing three of the eight songs that would later appear on the Rankin/Bass animated Christmas special, Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. Those three songs are "A Holly Jolly Christmas," "The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year" and "We Are Santa's Elves." By the way, one of the musicians that backed the girls up on this album was the great guitarist Al Caiola.

This album by the Quinto Sisters resides in the
1st Tier of my Top 500, coming in at #89.

Posted below are two of my favorite songs from the LP: "Skinny Little Christmas Tree" and "Sixty-Seven Santas."
