RE:Why the hell are people so crabby?

Reply to Silken_Fire (03/08/2009 5:32:23 PM) I think the economy is certainly part of the sitch
Rose... People are getting sick to damn death of working their butts
off day after day, week after week and having nothing left after the
bills are paid (IF the bills get paid) but I think it's more than
that...
True,
and I agree, although I feel it does make it worse then what it already
would be, if 'things' weren't so bad as present day economics.
I think people have become really addicted to the highs
of drama... the huge rush of feelings they get when they can shock,
anger or hurt someone. Everything is instant gratification and nothing
held back.
I
hear ya... people just randomly treating other's - familiar, or unknown
to them - as chit... even go so far as calling it funny... I call them
fvckwits.. albeit, rarely out loud IRL.
My take....
Firstly...
There have forever been those that relish drama, the uglier the better
in their book. Why... I dunno. I know it took me forever to accept
that those beings will always not only perpetuate it, but go to great
lengths to find it, and don't forget those that only allow THEIR
drama... entering pissing contests with those that beg to differ, ta
boot...bleh.
Secondly...
I always used to believe that Drama Queen's and King's were in the
minority... an occasional freak of nature... anymore though I see
rational, and calm people are in the minority. Oh... and I used to
wholeheartedly believe that Drama was strictly a female affliction...
guess that goes back to witnessing a few of my mothers coffee clutches
when I was little. Man, when I began to see, and realize, that there
are men that just as afflicted... wow, what an eye-opener. My mother
always wanted to KNOW what everybody else's
drama was about, but didn't jump in... she kept that for our own
household...LOL Dad on the other hand, like to hit-and-run meaning
induce it then claim immunity from the fall-out. Me? I can't stand
the stuff. Although, I will say that even though I don't go around
starting chit with people, if they bring it to me I let 'em know that I
never opened my door to their BS, so BS they're gonna get back and the
door slammed on to any continuance of it.
Thirdly.... yep... the
overall feel of today's present society is so negative, stressed, and
defensive it's everyone lashing out against the machine so to speak.
It's depressing, scary, and dim at best. Other then my own house of
estrogen that's more than enough drama for me personally deal with at
this time in my life... it's the sense of loss of hope for the better
of people, society as a whole, and future.
Fouthly (yes, I like to make up words)... Don't even get me started about the media. Chicken and egg bullsh*t
of which is it: The media floods, and saturates, the public with every
single nuance of negativity, violence, shocking behaviors, and such...
driving the final nail in by naming it reality tv
- or - the media is complying to the demand of the public at large for
all of this 'drama', claiming thrill seeking, and becoming ever more
so desensitized to the extent of actually living it out as if they've
morphed into their idiot boxes through the screen to come back out and
make reality TV... an actual reality. Even the animated chit! I could
not believe when Family guy, and South Park came out... what's that
the hell about... animation to draw kids in... and to have adults
believe that watching adult content in animation makes it less serious
a message? They subconsciously claim their fame to equal tv stardom? IMO... totally fvcked
up, and what's worse is the public, more at large then ever, that likes
to demonstrate it every single day... and, they call it humorous, and
for lack of a better word... hip. Fuckwits
aren't attractive... regardless of how much their willingness to
convince themselves, and others, that they are. When you disagree with
their stance, you're either 'out of the loop', old-fashioned, a prude,
XXX.... those that scoff at pacifists, Silken. Pacifist's, deep
thinkers, and consciousness/compassion are OUT... antagonists,
ignorance, narcissism and fvckwittedness are IN.
Ok... I can't stand it anymore... Who, or what, the hell is this --------->
It pisses, saddens, and scares me. For my children that are used
to being restricted from the majority of what TV has to offer as a
means of entertainment, computer also... there's enough for them to
contend with with NORMAL peer pressure, familial issues, and learning
how do deal with growing, maturing, and observing and contending with
what they know they don't want to be a part of and standing strong -
avoiding getting emotionally beaten for not joining the IN crowd and
yet be accepted - fit in - and, comfortable with who they are and how
they are perceived.
My eldest is a lot like me which may be good, and bad...lol.
Pacifist yes, but stands strong against what she feels is wrong.
Depending on what it is, quietly...other times... outwardly, and
clearly. Not passive/agressive... assertive. Hates the drama, but once
in a great comes off the wall... (for me that's been a personal
challenge that's a bit distressing, myself...) My youngest is having
more of a muddling with adolescence,
though. I couldn't begin to imagine how much harder it would be if I
allowed them a steady diet of the swill media has to offer. Actual
reality of living through today's cold society just demonstrating by
mimicking what's pumped into them by parents that demonstrate it's
effects on top of their allowing them free rein right along side of
them... is daunting enough, ty.
I don't like to fight either, Silk... choosing battles though, is
imperative in my book. Ignorant people are annoying yes... but, there
are times g/f that downright demand that you be heard, there's no other
way to get that then to ... well... fight back. Debate is altogether
different.... that's another thread. Or, who knows... perhaps in this
one at that, after my having posted my thoughts...lol.
It's 5 am, and I have a battle to attend to with a member of the aforementioned ilk later this morning, and another with State
tomorrow afternoon concerning the same issue: A male pedophile in an
instructor's position, at my younger daughter's school, that WAS until
last week my daughter's science teacher, and his boss a female
principal and her "I reported it. It's the state's prob now, not mine, or the school's" at
that.... is going down with him if I have anything to do with it. Why? He's still there.
Drama.... got that right.... and I'm goin' reality on 'em.
What's making me even sicker, literally, is the suspicion that I am the only parent of 5 female minor victims/classmates... that is going to show up for this fight. God... single parenting makes you feel alone in a few more ways then one, I tell ya. (Message edited by SparklingRose On 03/16/2009 04:18)
