I'm planning to -- for the first time since I've been playing, it doesn't clash with my regular early-November commitment. I'm not sure what sessions to pick though -- do you have any thoughts, suggestions?

Have a look at the skill levels and see what you think you can cope with (though some people's idea of 'Intermediate' can be different from our own! it's a difficult thing to quantify I suppose). I always feel I am hopeless on the actual weekend but I do enjoy it anyway, and anyway you do most of the actual learning afterwards, with what you have picked up in the workshops.

I'm pleased Dave has managed to get five tutors this year, last year I found the groups to be a bit too large for me to cope with.

Off to ponder now...

Cheers

I'll be there - I'm hoping to do A1 B1 this year, with A3 B4 as alternates.

Lester...
Yes - I will be arranging another Sheffield Melodeonists and Friends Italian Meal for the Saturday evening. I will post more information in a separate thread on this forum in the near future, together with details of this year's fiendish competition.

Alison....
Having met you a few times and heard you play, you will be fine on any I/H grade course. Don't choose a beginners B-grade course (unless you have an overwhelming reason to do so) or you will be bored a lot of the time. And as Fee has said, even if you are a bit flummoxed on the weekend, it's what you take away with you that counts; the real work begins at home after the weekend.

Oh - nearly forgot: I've plumped for A2 and B3.

Fantastic tutors this year but unfortunately I can't make it this time round :-(

Is there an ALE? That is an "alternative learning experience" to non OU people!

A5 (or A4) and B1 (or B5). B3 (early music, which I do like a lot) looked really interesting but I fear I don't read music well enough to do it.

Also a pizza al funghi (or maybe tagliatelli carbonara) hopefully.

Limericks again Steve, or something different...?

Cheers

I was torn between A5 and A4 and have eventually plumped for A5 -- and B1. This despite my sneaking belief that my right hand playing is boring and in serious need of work. I think this is my left-handed-ness asserting itself. Anyway, see you there. I also have hopes of sessions as well as possible pizza (though I worry I am not Sheffield enough).

I'm going for A3/B4, with A4/B1 in reserve. Sounds like a game of 'Battleships'.

Steve - you could continue the poetry theme from last year , but switch the verse form from limerick to haiku?
Or how about the most 'original & funny' joke involving a melodeon?

I look forward to seeing you all.

Andy

Hi Andy, Funny you should mention haiku, I'd already wondered about that. The joke idea is good too. I'll decide in a week or so - I've got a few more ideas up my sleeve
