Hi, Anyone had any experience in looking inside any of the Hohner concertina's. Both vintage and recent. My question is: Did Hohner use accordion reeds in their concertina's? I was listening to a couple of concertina CD's of the older generation East Clare players (20 button C/G)and to me they sound very much like accordion reeds. This is just to settle a debate between friends. Thanks in advance. Mike.

From my experience the cheaper end concertinas generally use accordion reeds, I know my old Bastari does, I assume Hohner is no exception.

I have a Hohner english system concertina. It is actually a Stagi built instrument badged by Hohner and it does have accordeon type reeds.
