Alright. From my understanding we are supposed to relay everything verbatim, even if the opr is involved, such as a mindless adolescent of 13 says something stupid to the tune of "the opr is a stupid ass fagot who beats his meat." Now I've seen where a few oprs will state "pls do not involve the opr in the conversation." Is this correct procedure? I vaguely remember something being taught about abuse in training. Can someone clariify if we can tell them not to involve us in the call or if we have to relay.

I'm not sure about your employer, but AT&T pretty much just trains you initially on how to handle call types and then you're left to figure the rest out. What I figured out is that you can state something to the effect of "CA/OPR here; I'm sorry, but the CA/OPR/3rd Party Facilitator is not part of the conversation. Please direct all comments to your caller. Thank you. ..." if they were directing any conversation towards you. If they are just talking shit about you, then you have to type it and relay response. That's what AT&T said, anyways.

Well I think the rule is they can talk "about" you all they want but once they talk TO you or start talking as if they WERE you then can consider it as them involving you or them abusing you. One thing I like to do if they say something like Opr here i am an idiot (whatever stupid thing they could thing of here) ga (more stupid stuff here not waiting for the ga here even if i were voicing their text) ga (I am a looser with nothing better to do) ga I just let them go on and on until they have given the "final" ga after a good five minutes or so, they probably think i am voicing all of that crap and then I type (opr here, conversations in relay calls can not involve the opr pls rephrase all comments from the point "i am an idiot" in a way that does not involve the opr) GA    Just an idea !

the actual textbook rule (though not all supervisors enforce this so good luck with it) is that as soon as the word operator is used in an abusive situation it is abusing the operator. If it is involving something racial or sexual in nature we supposedly can get the supervisor then (although they won't do anything at this point, at least since some of the better have quit.) but the script is in the book, u send it twice and then 3 rd time u get a sup.

Yeah, I've tired this. The supe was more concerned about squeezing more minutes out of the term than my dignity. Only 1 supervisor has even offered to become involved in this situation. MCI Management, you can't tell but I'm flipping you off right now.

That doesn't always work at my center (they've got those things wound in tight) so i just term disconnect and then the 10 and 5 secs we re supposed to give them turns into a 5 and 3 so there will be no chance that person can respond in time.  So what i can't count!

from how i understand it, the textbook rule is that they can say anything they want ABOUT the opr, but as soon as they start talking TO the opr- that is when they are to be redirected. and only when they say something racial or sexual in nature TO the opr can a sup be called over.
