HI, Latetly I have noticed that every once and a while I will develop a small white pimple looking thing on the inside of my right eyelid. I don't dare try to pop it or anything but this is like the 3rd or 4th time in months it has appeared. It goes away on it's own but I am wondering just why it is appearing. I am not doing anything different, I don't put eyeliner on the inside.....Does anyone know what this is and is there a way to get it to go away without waiting. It looks like there is a smhmutz of something there and I need to wipe it off.......Thanks, Maria

It could be a sty. Or it could be just a small irritation. Is there any pain with it? When I had my last sty it was very painful with swelling. Someone told me to use a warm teabag on it. And it worked. Hope it feels better. Hugs

Hi, No it's not a stye. It is a painless very small little thing that looks like a white filled pimple. When I first see it , I think it is a piece of smutz and go to wipe it away. But thanks for replying......Maria

Hi Maria.  I think I know exactly what you're talking about.  I get these occasionally, too.  It always seems to be my right eye and I get them on the rim of my upper eyelid.  They are actually little pimples.  There are tiny glands there that can sometimes fill up with a little white pus just like a zit.  Mine are very tiny and I just scrape them off with the tip of my finger nail and they go away.  Of course, I make sure I have very clean hands when I do this.  They break open very easily and then they're gone.  I only get one at a time and it happens very infrequently.  I've probably had it happen about 5 times.  Does this sound like what you're experiencing?  Val.

That does sound like it Val....I wonder why it is happening all of a sudden though. Ok, I'll chalk it up to old age for me anyway! Thanks for replying.......Maria

I didn't get them until I was over age 40, so it might an old age thing.  How many of them are you getting?  Val.

Hi Val, Yep, not till over 40! I would say this is the 4th one this winter. This one is almost gone. You can't see the white anymore but if you look closely you can see a small bump.....Have you (or anyone) every asked your doctor about this?  Just another "old age" thing we have to deal with I guess!? Have a good day.......Maria

I never did ask a doctor about it because it only happened a few times, and very far apart in time.  Plus, I was always able to get rid of them by "popping" them with my fingernail.  There was always a tiny amount of milky white fluid that oozed out, then they healed completely.  I bet it's a sebaceous gland that just gets blocked and when you release the blockage it heals.  You could have one that keeps filling up.  Who knows what causes these things, beats me.  I still get pimples on my face once in awhile and you'd think that a menopausal woman with dry aging skin wouldn't get those, either.  I hope they are not too troublesome to you, but I feel certain they are harmless.  Val.

Thanks Val, Looks like another annoyance I will have to live with. I certainly have more important things to stress over so it's ok (hair and tooth!) Maria

Hi Maria, I know how bummed you are about your thinning hair, but I know so many women with thinning hair, and they wear it in a cute style, and to me they are beautiful, just because they are beautiful people.  Whether they have thick or thin hair really is not important.  I know it bothers you, but I bet you still look stunning.  Am I right?  Val.

Hi Val, I don't know about that!!  I am not that healthy that I don't worry about my hair. Thank God it is not too bad. I just wonder about down the road. Coloring helps, parting it farther on the side. I just feel like I am depressed/anxious enough and have enough unresolved physical and mental problems etc that I really did not need this. Then again, it probably came on prematurely due to stress! Maria

I get those once in a blue moon and I also do the scrapey thing and carefully clean it with a q-tip.  I happened to ask my eye doctor - he said it was indeed a pimple - sometimes the pores get blocked there.  He said you can either do nothing or the scrapey thing and clean with a little salt water - don't worry!  It's just one of those things ...

Hi darok, thanks for the extra info.  I'm glad to know exactly what it is, since I get them from time to time too.  It always helps HA people take the fear out of every little thing if we know what it is.  Since we tend to worry about even the tiniest little things, every bit of info helps.  Thanks for sharing!!  Val.
