am starting to freak—could use wisdom. have had headaches for two weeks. wake up in the morning with pain on left side of head, by temple. comes and goes throughout the day. is there every single day ...

do i need to go to the doctor?

please help!

I doubt you have a brain tumor but maybe allergies.  I would get an MRI just to reassure your self so you wont freak out about it.  They're pretty expensive but maybe just seeing a neaurologist would help.

 I would go to a doctor but try not to play into your fears by thinking an mri is a solution, its not. You'll get the mri or whatever test it is and just move onto the next health concern. The main thing is that you learn to control the habit of worrying about your health. I still deal with this of course and do my best never to feed into it by saying "well if I just had this test then everything would be ok" because unfortunately its not that simple.

I had that and it turned out to be a sinus infection.  no worries!
my doctor tells me to start small: if your head hurts, ask yourself:
-am i under stress?
then, if that fails:
-did i hit my head?
then, if that doesn't exaplin it:
-do i have allergies?
then, if that STILL isn't it:
-go to a doctor, they'll tell you the same thing.
only after everything other thing fails should you concern yourself with the extremes, aka brain tumor or meningitis or something like that. less than 1% of all people who go to the emergency room for headaches acutally have something wrong with them.
