Re :   Making plans for Lilly to go home to God

Rhonda, my heart hurts for you. Such a difficult but caring decision. Lily is so fortunate to have you to help her with her journey.

Re :   Making plans for Lilly to go home to God

Rhonda. I am so sorry to hear that the time is near. As the others have said it takes a great deal of love to put the Lillie's needs above your own. Many of us have suffered the pain of letting one of our big guys go. It is not easy but with God's help we get through it. We replace the hurt with memories of the wonderful times we had with the Dane. They stay in our hearts forever. Thank you for putting Lilly first.

Re :   Making plans for Lilly to go home to God

Phonda I am so sorry the time is near.  Most of us have had to make that decision
for the pet family member we love.  You will know when the time is right and Lilly
will count on you to make that decision.  It takes a strong person to put their loved ones need in front of our need
to not let them leave us.  You know we are your strength support but know
you are the real strength when it comes to your love for Lilly,
love jeri

Re :   Making plans for Lilly to go home to God

Rhonda, I am so sorry to hear this.  You are right.  We have all been here.  And no, it doesn't get any easier.  You have always been strong for Lilly.  You don't need us to help you here.  You gave her the loving home she deserves.  You will give her the dignified end when the time is right.  Lilly is lucky to have you.

Love, hugs, and courage.

Wow, this is tough. My first great

dane, Clyde was pts on my birthday

in 2008. Tomorrow is my birthday

and Lilly is quickly going downhill.

Talking to vet about pts and will bury

her on my son's land. She's been

pretty peppy, lately and still gets on

her sofa. One eye is showing her

third eyelid this morning and she

looks beat. You guys know how

this feels. please help me be strong

for Lilly. Thanks.

Topic :   Hey Mel????? Canada Nat'l Parks?

I have a question about Canada Nat'l parks?  In the US (except for AZ.) dogs are not allowed on trails in a Nat'l Park.
I've read dogs are allowed in Canada's Nat'l parks.  We are going to visit Glacier Nat'l park in Canada in fall and would like to take Zuni.  Can you give me some input?  The only reason AZ finally changed their position was due to idiots that left their pets in a car when it was 110 degrees outside and they decided to go for a 2 hour hike.  Go figure!

Everyone wants 1st place but can't always get it, lol.  We were happy to get
wood.  Wood is what the trophies are.
Here is a pix of our motley crew.  The 5 of us race together.

Pix of being awarded our trophy.  Ed went home but Zuni replaced him, lol.

Hanging the wood at the cabin

Fun regatta.  Glad it is over for this year,

Re :   OK! Time for Now and Then PIX.

Thank you, Jeri!  I LOVE then and now pictures!

This is Genny, our very first Dane.  What a special girl she was.

This is Ken with Genny.  They are both gone now. But never forgotten.  Never.

This is Mosette (Mosie) as a puppy.  They just don't get any more adorable than this!

And this is Mosie's glamor shot!

And this is Si Si Miere, Mosie's Little Sister.

And this is a two-fer.  Mosie and Si Si are absolutely the best of friends.  I can't take a picture of one without getting a picture of both!
