A couple to add - saw Joanna Lumley and Tamsin Greig from the Green Wing in Sainsburys a few weeks back, although not together! There's also an older English actor and an actress who I often spot around Abbeville road, but I haven't a clue what their names are...

I HAVE OFTEN SEEN AROUND THERE IS ROY HUDD AND TIMOTHY WEST WITH HIS WIFE. PROBABLY ONE OF THE TWO.
ALSO A WHILE AGO I DID SEE LESLEY JOSEPH(OUT OF BIRDS OF A FEATHER} AT CLAPHAM COMMON SOUTHSIDE.
ANYMORE HAS ANYONE SEEN. THIS COULD GET REALLY INTERESTING AND HOPE WE CAN ALL COMPILE A BIG LIST FOR THE CLAPHAM AREA.
ALSO WHAT A GREAT PAGE THIS IS . WELL DONE TO ALL WHO HAVE PUT IN ALOT OF WORK FOR AN INTERESTING SITE

No it's not !!!! Just because there is a road near there called Battersea Rise there seems to be confusion but Battersea is officially further west near Battersea Bridge this side of the river. Clapham Junction is definitely in Clapham.

Thank you, Timothy West was one - still can't remember the other one though.
By the way, Clapham Junction is not, has never been, and will never be part of Clapham. Clapham's westernmost limit is along Wix's Lane, and if you draw a line pretty much due south along the Common, that's about it.

Smiling at this thread - it's an easy mistake to make and names of areas change depending on house values it seems, but having had a family presence in the area since 1939 i can confirm that Clapham Junction is in fact in Battersea because it has an SW11 postcode and of course anything in SW4 is Clapham, and SW11 is Balham and so on. The area christened as the toastrack (by battersea estate agents - other locals refer to the area as 'the breeding pens') refers to the roads between Clapham Common and Wandsworth common with Northcote Road and Webbs Road running through them.
