Tat shops can be useful and serve the lower rungs of Clapham's population including its many students, oldies, giros, alkies and loonies. Clapham is a fairly democratic place where everyone has a stake, not sure that glossy northcote rd type of shops serving one section of the community whilst forgetting that others exist will work in Clapham proper.

 Personally, I just hope this Boots has a bit more to it than the usual run of aisles and cosmetics. It would be good to have more of a sandwich / food area and perhaps magazines. Clapham's missing a big newsagent.

Yes, they have food in the Boots in Liverpool St branch and digital cameras, photo printing, etc.  I think the one in Clapham is going to mainly a pharmacy and cosmetics branch.  Will give Superdrug a run for its money.  Service in there is sooo appalling.J.

 Yes, lots of central London Boots stores have mags and food... even if they didn't there's no reason why they couldn't.

The ads up in the windows for the new Boots say that it will have a food & drink section as well as pharmacy, toiletries, etc. It is a big site so guess it should be quite a useful shop.
