$%*'`[PoorlyMini]%*'`@Hi everyone,Unfortunately my adorable little car has been experiencing battery/electrical problems and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good mechanic/garage in the Clapham area who won't rip me off. Ideally I also need somewhere who would come out and jump-start me so I can actually get to the garage!Cheers.

Hmmm... a British car being repaired by a French car specialist? I smell trouble!

Do you think the French garage would look at my Mini?  It's a classic one (rather than the new types) so a Rover-build.

Thanks.

Heh Rob is English.... I know the French are strange but a car is a car (it just means if you have a bog standard Renault he is more likely to have parts in stock!)

He used to look after my 2CV (and it needed a LOT of looking after). But he has looked after my Honda (not really very French) for the last four years without any problem.

All I can say is Rob is a lovely guy who has been looking after cars for well over 20 years so unless there is something mysterious he should be fine..... and an original Mini is a damn site easier to look after than any modern car. Hell with the right workshop book and sufficient payment I will do the work on it. Older cars are much much easier than modern ones. Seriously he would have no probs with it but I leave it up to you.

This is just a personal recommentation for someone I like and trust. That is all.

Steve

PS Oh and looking at your original post - I can guarentee he won't rip you off.
