Now as much as I love style bars and the glitz'n'glam (& attitidue)I still loved that slightly grungy and attitude-free feeling that The Belle Vue had about it. Let's hope it's not style over substance!One renovation that worked out quite well is The Coach and Horses on Clapham Park Road, opposite in ALL senses, Sand.Used to be a real dive but now is a friendly local that does above average pub grub in a comfy relaxed atmos. Worth checking out. Especially whilst we have some decent weather.

Rank:none Score:0 Posts:37 Registered: 13/07/2002 Time spent: 0 hours	(Date Posted:26/08/2003 3:06 PM) It's one of the few things that can be annoying about Clapham, that so many of the pubs / bars / restaurants seem to have a lifetime of a year or two, sometimes less, before someone feels compelled to turn them into something else. Still, let's see what they do with the BV. On a related matter, I was walking past the Frog & Forget-me-not the other day, and noticed the changes inside - all pine now, no squashy comfy sofas! When did that happen? What's it like now? Also went into the Coach & Horses for the first time on Sunday night, and thought it was pretty good. -------------------------------------------------------------- Steve
