Has anyone been to the Clapham Grand lately on a Saturday night? Want to find out what theme they are doing and what sort of crowd goes there. Thanks!

I was at the Grand on Saturday night. They usually have 'Dr Glitz and the Flirtations, but for some reason they were absent on this occasion. The flavour at the Grand on a Saturday is generally very cheesy, and tongue in cheek. In the past, Saturdays have been very 70s focused, but there was more of a 70s - 90s spread this time. I don't know whether this was a one-off in the absence of Dr Glitz, or whether there's more of a mix these days (it was my first visit in nearly a year).
As to the crowd, I'd say it's quite mixed - a fairly down to earth, average nightclub crowd.

Thanks Steve. Like you, the last time I went to the place could possibly be 2 years ago or so. At that time, the crowd was getting oik-ish. :-). A friend of mine wants to go and I am sceptical so wanted some feedback from those who have just been there lately.
Whadya reckon? Worth going again?

I think the crowd at any venue does vary from week to week. They seemed fine when I was there, so I'd say give it a go, and see what you think!

Went on Saturday. It was okay-ish but rather dull. Perhaps the Dr Glitz theme is now rather tired. Crowd was very average and dull. Saw heaps of people queueing for Infernos (?!!) That place is suppose to be a dive, right? I have also seen black curtains out up on Friday nights on the outside.......is Infernos now an okay place to go?

I think Infernos usually gets pretty busy on a Saturday. I haven't been for a couple of months, but have never had any problems there before (you should have seen it back when it was Southside 146 Bar - walked in, and pretty much turned around and left again - some very scary-looking individuals there!)
Infernos isn't what you'd call classy, but if you're up for a not-too-serious drunken night, it fits the bill, and is a conveniently short stagger from home.
