I am wondering if anyone has production number information for 1973, 1974 and 1975 Honda XL175s. I have both a '73 and '75 and wonder which bike was sold in greater numbers. It seems that I see mostly '74s for sale  and an occasional blue '76.

don't the exact answer to your ? - but the 74's seemingly are the most popular.  All were pretty identical with the exception of the 76 exhaust routing. The production ran from 74-78 and was replaced in 79 by the XL185S.

Dear Motosportman,

I see that you have a 1975 XL125, as well.  I am looking to replace the bad muffler on my 1975 XL125 and seem to remember a post here about someone replacing the old exhaust with a SuperTrapp system.
Any ideas on who may carry this guy for the 1975 XL125?

Thanks,

That would be fun to know, which years, how many etc..
They must have built and sold a ton and half of 'em, there are still so many around..
Over the summer I picked up a real decent '74 175, a '78, and one I'm not sure of '73-75 (low pipe).
The muffler rot/ super trap stuff is mostly custom fix, weld, do what you can to keep the noise down and not look to cobby,, find a craftsman locally that can help you,, there are many options.
