Hi Guys, All my paychecks are disappearing down my gas tank! Enter my '82 XL185S to the rescue ! The only thing is, it's been sitting unused for years and now suffers from a weak spark across the sparkplug gap (even with a brand new sparkplug installed). Has anybody had any experience with this problem? My plan is to first remove any corrosion from all ignition harness disconnect points and screw-on connections. With that done and no improvement in spark strength (should be a blue spark at the plug), I'll be checking the ignition coil resistance (Ohms). Does anybody know what the '82 XL185S ignition coil resistance should read (in Ohms)? If I strike out there, I'll be looking at the CDI module and then stator ignition coil windings. Unfortunately, the only thing is, I don't know what those readings should be, either. Can anybody suggest a reasonable source for an OEM Honda Service Shop Manual for this bike? I desperately need an OEM list of ignition trouble-shooting procedures. Many thanks in advance your kind assistance. All feedback will be gratefully appreciated and acknowledged.
