I honestly believe that we all have the ability to tune in with our higher senses and to communicate with loved ones in spirit. 

Just like anything, there are people who are more gifted than others, just like some people are natural athletes and others are natural musicians.  I have noticed several different times that psychic gifts sometimes run through family lines.  A particular line of a family will produce people who are great healers or psychics, or may be able to soul travel easier than most people.  That doesn't mean that they carry any kind of moral code with their gifts.  Often, these people use their gifts only for their benefit to the detriment of others.

Having said that, I have seen too many people leave a workshop knowing that if they practice what they've learned, they can become quite good with their own gifts and use them quite well in their day to day lives.

For most people, they are going to find that after they practice a while, they don't have a major NEED to keep working at it, to keep practicing.  Some people (in my experience) have been 'gifted' with these gifts a bit stronger without having any family history of it.  You might say they 'earned' it through past work and lessons learned. 

Some of us, I truly believe are called to do this.  I have always felt an almost pathological need to help people connect with their higher guidance or with their loved ones in spirit.  I can't imagine myself NOT being allowed to do what I love and know helps people. 

There I go again, the short answer you were looking for is yes, I do believe we can all do this.  Just takes practice, like with anything.
