Re :   Paper work SMKR

You have me there Rick. There is most definately a two legged problem, an issue most diffcult indeed. Horse people in general can be very difficult and setting standards for them, is a tuff task.

Re :   Paper work SMKR

Tiff some of us are trying to set some levels for people not just horses. that is harder to make work but there may be away. You are or were close to Mat and Pam they left the breed because of people not horses that should tell you the breed has a 2 legged problem more than 4.

Re :   Paper work SMKR

Oh I see...I can see how it would be very complicated or at least complex. But I think  I understand what your saying. Should a buyer go looking for a Kiger Mustang they can determine, hopefully thru some research if what they want is SMKR Kiger or Kiger registered thru some other entity, which may have differant standards, therefore a differant type of horse. So have you started determining the proccess yet of the standards of the SMKR Kiger Mustang? I know you are serious about sticking to horses  that trace back to or are from Kiger and Riddle HMAs ( I am all for that). Will there be other standards as well?
I  believe this comment made on the other board makes some sense, with  a registry to encompass them all  ...
"Just as the Kiger is versatile, so needs to be the Kiger market. I am waiting for some breeders to take Kigers with the perpencity for cow work, and breed for that; take Kigers with dressage talent and breed lines for that. Gosh, breed the ones that tend to breed small and get some sport ponies out there!"

Re :   Paper work SMKR

Tiffany your opinion is always welcome. Yes most were happy to get them. As for the last part I and some others have wanted to control the type of people that get involved with the horses. They don't want to stop anybody from getting them just keep certain type of people away from what they do as far as promoting and breeding a true kiger. That is the hard part. That is why KMA and myself stay apart so easy we don't like each other. Some there needs to be a way that a person can be on one side or another but not both. Then the sides can choose who meets the standards of  that side. It is hard to say it in a way that makes sense. Maybe this will help I don't want to own the same kind of horse that say Cook has. So we are trying to come up with a way to keep people and horses apart even if they have the same name. it  will work some day  I hope.

Re :   Paper work SMKR

I am confused...I do not know what post you are referring to over on the other board. Everyone there was happy to recieve their SMKR papers regardless of the time it took. There was only one complainer on that post and he was complaining about the time it was taking to recieve his KMA papers, which they explained was because of the inspection and processing DNA.

Now as far as the second part of your question are you refering to registering horses that belong to breeders, to put it bluntly, you don't trust ? Just want to be sure  I got it right before I respond, that is if your asking for opinions?

Re :   Paper work SMKR

I see on the other board that somebody sent their papers in July 07 and somebody else July 08. Not sure why I got them out about the same time. One thought is maybe where they bought the horse another one maybe I was not being fair or maybe one person is a KMA supporter and maybe __________.
Any way if you have not got them I think all will be done by next week.
Question anybody have a idea how we could register the people with the horse. Maybe do a inspection on both then they could go into a category Horse would be breeding or nonbreeding and the owner as true kiger  breeder or none recognized breeder.  To be able to breed or sell horses the horse must come from a true kiger breeder other horses would not be accepted under no reason.  No maybe we could accept horses from the none recognized breeders but then they could never to breed as far as their foals going in. Kind of a tough way but where are we now.

Re :   Paper work SMKR

It is now August 16th, and I have been looking in my mailbox every day for the registration paper of Inca Sombra. It hasn't appeared. I know we have been working on it for over two years now, and my check was finally cashed back in July, so I thought the paper would show up any day. Can you check and see if it has gone out, or if it's lost?
Thanks,
Judy

Re :   KY Horse Park Kiger Mustang Weekend 2008

Thanks Bettye!
Karen, I am inspired by your dedication to Mystic. She is the reason you have become a more effective thinking rider. You two definitelycompliment each other. Keep it up!

Kristi, You and Randy Rock! Thanks for all you do.

Kara, Some days dedication  seems like physical and mental punishment. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment then. hehehe.........It's obviously my addiction.

Re :   Anyone know about this horse?

I'd love to be able to contact the breeder just to find out more about our horse.  Her registry number isMSMC 488.

Our mare is big- 15.3 at least, which seems to me to be pretty big based on what I've been reading.  Here she is! This is Hex.

Re :   KY Horse Park Kiger Mustang Weekend 2008

I have been meaning to post to this because I always enjoy seeing the pictures and hearing about the Kiger weekend. I apologize for the delay.

I will ditto Kristi's remarks and just  add what an inspiration you are. The dedication you show to your horses is obvious. Anyone with the will to succeed, can do so with dedication and hard work. It's much easier for people to make excuses as to why they can't do something, it takes real heart and dedication though to realize and accomplish a goal.

Kudos to you!

Kara

Re :   Big Gray

I realized after I posted that my words might have been construed that way. That's what happens when one is in a hurry to post so she can head to the barn to finish chores. LOL

Argo continues to amaze me daily.

New post this morning on his blog.
