I had a random thought the other day about an on-line chat group that I'd just like to throw around the block. Breeding horses is just not the smartest thing to be doing these days, and we are probably all talked out about registration wars, seeing how, if we(collectively) aren't making more horses, then registration becomes a moot point! But most of us still have our special horses and whether or not we use them in a big way or in a small way, well....I was wondering if there would be much response to a group expressly for women over 35 that own, ride, or just still love horses (and not just kigers, not just mustangs) Most horse owners ARE women, and lets face it, at some point we will all reach an age where horsekeeping will have to be modified or compromised to some extent...BTW, I am officially "there", as I will be 60 this summer, and I frankly can't haul hay like I once did). Maybe I am the only one of the old Kiger chatters who has reached the point where wheelcarts and hired help are a big plus, but I am betting that I am not the only one. So, if anyone besides me would be interested in a sort-of "red hat society for horse gals", or a "hags on nags" kind of forum...one designed expressly so that horse gals can all share how they still manage to enjoy horses after age 35, I'd be glad to start a group like that up. Whether it just be a catagory on the Kiger board, or a seperate message board, or a Yahoo email group, or whatever, I'm open to any suggestions. I just want to know if there would be any interest in such a group.
