Seems that there are some very good people want to see this happen. The main trouble I see is how to keep the low lifes out. Any ideas

You are correct Rick, many good folks would like to see one good registry that ALL Kiger owners can rely on for prompt and courteous communication, handled with professionalism and no prejudice,  with registrations issued according to rules and procedures in effect, where all Kiger owners can join together for the betterment of the Kiger horse, where different personalities can accept their differences and get along for the betterment of the Kiger horse, and NOT be a good 'ol boys club.   

Is there a good one out there?  Many know from hands on experience that KMA lacks all of the above qualities.  As a matter of public record, anyone can contact the Oregon Attorney Generals office and ask for information on complaints against the Kiger Mesteno Association, and there are many, or better yet, for a copy of the recent letter sent by the Oregon Attorney General reprimanding them for their lack of following procedures and their behavior towards certain members, with a strong reminder of their "purpose" and their non profit status filing.

Is there a good one out there?  The Kiger horse deserves to be recognized by a professional REGISTRY, not a club.  One that will bring the Kiger horse into the next century, one that will be fair, honest, and unbiased to all Kiger owners, and to truly have a purpose to promote, protect, and preserve the Kiger horse to ensure that the Kiger horse does not fade into history because of problems that people have created.


United we stand, divided we fall!  Lets all unite together for the benefit of the Kiger horse, NOT the people!

Well said Betty L. I have been to the State of Oregon and read all the complaints about KMA. The main reason that Oregon did not adopte the kiger for state horse or a licesne plate was the complaints about KMA. Untill KMA is disbaned the smell of fake kigers will be her for ever ever. So why should  good honest people keep pushing a breed that is 33% fake. Let the  low lifes and crooks have them.  One think that make me sick is to see somebody like _______ say one kiger horse can be a great drassage, cow horse , indurance horse and go get the mail what a con and not even a good one. So right now this breed sucks.

Can't fill in the blank and don't want to fill in the blank!  Rick, you're wrong!!!!! The breed DOES NOT suck... the PEOPLE SUCK!!  The breed is there patiently waiting for the idiots to figure it out!  Kiger Mustang/Kiger Horse, they have ALOT to offer the equine community besides color!  Dun is icing on the cake, best of all worlds, blah, blah, blah.  Dun got and gets them recognized!  Performance  will get them accepted.  Without a unified registry it's becoming increasingly difficult to justify getting a good, well trained horse out into the public eye.  While there are people out there doing things with their Kigers I am becoming more and more embarassed to point people to the internet.  Without a registry to back these horses, sorry none of the registries withstand the test in my opinion, why would I send people to explore the absurd, unsubstanciated claims, horrible pictures, and general been there done nothing claims of this "Breed"??????   Unify with a Purpose, yes!  Unify to defeat the Enemy, no!

Karen's right, in a sense, although I would not necessarily say that the people suck, but you could come to that conclusion.

The two main registries that were in the forefront when I started in Kigers
