Double L Kigers
Topic :   Extreme Mustang Makeover

Jani Zigray-Cochran, a good friend and  director of the Kiger Horse Association & Registry (KHAR), , has been accepted as one of 200 trainers that will be working with a wild mustang from Nevada and participating in the Extreme Mustang Makeover 2008 in Forth Worth Texas September 18-20.  Jani will be picking up her mustang June 2 or 3 in    Palomino Valley, Nevada.    Jani has trained and worked with many of my adopted mustangs, including Kiger mustangs,  over the years, always returning a well manered, safe riding horse for my ranch and guests.      I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a quality trainer that will give you the result you want.  Congratulations Jani!

Betty

Topic :   KMA

The other registries do not DNA test and no inspections are required.  They are only lists kept on horses that are known today and most of their information comes from us.

Why would anybody want information from KMA when they have changed the brith place of horses and broke their own rules as to what a kiger is.  Rick

This colt would only be sold with the stipulation that it never be registered SMKR because we don't recognize their validity because of their lack of traceability.  It is important to us that offspring from our ranch continue with the traceable foundation bloodlines.

I can see why they would say this after the fact SMKR will not register KMA horses. +++ it would make it easier for KMA to hide all the fake horse they have 300++++ and many more on the way to make kma the fake registry for ever unless the State of Oegon stops them. Rick

By the way, we guarantee that our babies can be registered with KMA.

Shauna

The state Oregon is intersted in this statement kind of like insider trading which kma is known.  Rick

Any of you out there that has kma complaints you can get them to BL or me and we will pass them on to the State Of Oregon.

Re :   Horseman's Extravaganza

Great event Karen. Thanks for inviting Melissa, Reed and  "The Bandit"  to participate in the extravanza.  We enjoyed the event and had a great time.    It was well worth the 12 hour road trip to  take part in this well organized event. The Kigers  created a great deal of interest and many observers ask about the horses.

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

Oh yes tiffany, don't ya wished they stayed nice and clean. 1st thing they do is run out and start rolling  :) We bathed all of ours Friday evening, gave them all a good iodine bath - they have almost all shedded off, so iodine to help kill all that bacteria and fungus that has been under there thick coats. I actually got a video of one of the horse's rolling as soon as we put them out, i'll try and download tomorrow.

Glad the cold fronts arent' headed this way anymore - but the heat is starting to get here.

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

We  got that warm weather and I now have some soft and clean smelling horses. I did not get to them all but  I got  a fair  number of them washed and plan to do a few more today. The sun and blue skies  are still sticking around for a little longer. Sadly the weatherman says not for long, we have cold weather headed our way once again...UGH!

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

I just got my two big jugs of EQsolutions horse wash in the mail, so  I am set for the summer to give wash some horses. They say it should reach 70's by monday.  I just may get a chance to get some horses wet.
As for today, it is cloudy and looks like rain,  I did  the dishes the dishes and told the hubby he had to start the fire, in the woodstove and bring in wood.

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

I can relate Tiffany.  North of Seattle we had 70 degrees one Saturday and 4 inches of snow the next.  Mostly it just rains, and rains, and rains.  Makes it hard to train as the ground is still slippery.  Nights are warmer though, if you call low forties warm.

Re :   Looking for info

I've run across lots of wonderful horses in my limited time hunting and decided I would really like to try to find a nice Kiger that suits my needs and personality.  And find a seller who will put up with a long distance transaction.  I live in Korea right now, I can't just pop over and look at a horse.  Any seller would have to be willing to send pics, and/or videos, and be willing to hold/wait until October to arrange transport.    I'm starting to think that finding the right seller might be harder than finding the right horse.

So my Goals are
$3000-3500
15hh+
Broke
Seller willing to put up with me
Sound and at least mostly sane
Mare/gelding
Color not an issue (I'd prefer a horse that moves and is put together well over color)
Can be green
Willing to wait till/Ready to go in october

Thank you both for your help
My email is Kahna04@aol.com

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

Quakes in Reno...wow,  I must be out of the loop. This is the first  I heard of it.  I guess my daughter was right not to to want to spend this week in Reno for her 21st birthday.
On the other hand the sun is making an appearance this morning which is nice, as  I will be out assisting my vet this morning to get dental work done on two of my horses this morning. Still getting everyone ready for when the nice weather really does hit (I have more dental work being done next week)  we will be good to go for trail riding with no issues. Of course Wickee is going to the trainer for riding lessons and needs those teeth done before a bit goes in her mouth.

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

I am sorry Tiffany, but I have your warm weather, I would like it a bit cooler we are so close to triple didgets, we are also heading for a slight cool down. so I think that means you all are having storms. I am sorry. This has been a strange year as far as weather goes.
Bettye My nephew use to live in Reno, and they are trying to sell their home there, and that quake did not help with the sale.

Re :   Where is my warm weather?

And how are the folks in the Reno area doing with the earthquakes? I got an email from a lady who saiod her donkeys tipped her off to the quakes before they actually arrived.

Re :   Looking for info

I don't really have any gender preferences.  I have more experience with geldings, but I don't mind mares.  No stallions, of course.    A mare might resell better on Hawaii, should I ever be forced to sell.  I'm planning on being in Hawaii for a good long time, but life throws curve balls and I like to be prepared for any eventuality.
