Meaning "Magic Kiger Horse." Better known as "Magic." Thought I'd "PUT UP" a few current pictures of our newly adopted two year old Kiger gelding. He is a nice boy and has decided that being scratched feels very nice, considering he is shedding and has several matted dingleberries hanging from his underside. When being scratched, he will stretch his neck out and groom the ground. Can't wait to get him completely groomed and cleaned up. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Here are a few more pictures taken after a bit of grooming. Today was the first day Magic has allowed us to rub him on both sides. He was a little protective of his right side for a short time, but soon got over his fear. He even let us pull some of his dingleberries off. He follows us around now.

It is very nice to see the newly adopted kigers getting lots of love and attention and taking a liking to their new human owners. I wish I would have been able to bring one home myself to share stories about. So it is nice to get on the board and hear the updates.

Oh! He's going to be beautiful. I love the bi-coloring in his mane. Give him another month or so and I bet he'll be shedded off and have put on some more weight, he'll be perrtyy!!!
I anticipate seeing what Magic will look like in a few months. Also can't wait for his first hoof trim, which he is in desperate need of! They are so long! We are working on handling his front legs now. His tail has been chewed off above his hocks, so it will take a while for that to grow back out. Poor boy. He does not seem to show much interest in grains or peleted feeds, but eats lots of hay.

Here are a few current pictures of Magic. May 29, 2008
Magic is doing quite well with his new domesticated life. He is halterbroke and allowing us to pick his front feet up. It is so amazing to think of the simple things that we take for granted with our domestic horses, and gentled Mustangs, like leading, grooming and handling them. Nothing better than a wild horse to refresh ones perception on "patience." This is Magic's first venture outside of the arena. He is a very calm and confident horse. Magic calmly greets the "concrete Kigers at the end of the driveway." Going back home. ************************************************************************************** Magic has made such a transformation since he arrived in March. He arrived very sick with the strangles. Notice the swelling under his jaw which ruptured twice just days after he arrived. His face was swollen. Notice fluid swelling around his mouth and nostril. ************************************************************************************* And Magic in May 2008 I see content in his eyes, no more sickness or fear. It is amazing what good nutrition, wormer, and a little TLC can do for a sick wild horse. Magic sure knows.

Magic is lucky to be in your capable hands, otherwise, I hate to think of how he might have fared. I look forward to seeing him a year from now! The transformation is a blessing for this young one. Great job! Linda D
