Just wondering.... what is it about the Kiger that you think makes them better than any other breed of horse? Trying to get an opinion poll going here. I don't want to know what attracted people to the breed in the first place, rather what is it about them that keeps owners dedicated to the breed. For me, it's the boys. While I have a lot of admiration for those smart...but pissy...mares, what I really admire most is how hard the boys try to please. Don't know whether or not to call it heart or "try", but it's been my experience that most of the studs or geldings bend over backwards to make their owners happy. They certainly don't "get it right" every time, but, oh, golly, do they ever seem to try. Most of 'em, anyway. And they try a lot harder to please than any paint, quarter horse, or appy that I've ever owned. So how do the rest of you feel about it? What makes these horses really great? I mean, it sure ain't because they can compete with Rugged Lark or Refrigerator, etc. What do you think their "edge" is? Now I am pretty darned sure nobody is staying with Kigers because they think that Kigers are great at timed events! Do you stay with Kigers because they look like something Jake Spoon would ride, or because you love duns, or because nobody else on your block has got one, or is there another reason? Lets get a conversation going.
