Well since most of the people don't post on this board anymore in fear of being attacked , I thought Id start a new thread.  It's so beautiful down here, in the 60's, so the riding season is back on.. woohoo Does anyone have any new photo's or stories of there horse's to share? I'm sure as it gets warmer and everyone starts working with there new kigers they adopted, we'll have lots of new stories to talk about... I'll be heading out here in a bit to ride my 2 boys and enjoy this gorgeous day....I'll take some pics and video's of my 2 wild ones so I can share :)  Can't wait til they start shedding, although its a job to get that hair off.

Must be nice to have such wonderful weather. We Canadians are sitting here with 15cm of snow and another 15 to 20cm on it's way. Normally that is not too bad but we have been having intermitant freezing rain inbetween the snow falls. If you get a chance, could you send some of that gorgeous weather this way???? It sure would be great to have some of that wonderful sunshine and warm weather up this way.

Well I have had a chance to get out and ride as the snow has just melted away here and the sun began to shine. I have managed one short trailride and put some horses back to work in the round pen. As no one has been shod yet no serious trailrides are in the works, besides we all need to get back into shape (me included).
I to come over here and check this board often, but I am sure winter has most hibernating and not much horse activity going on. I only have 1 month and 15 days to wait for Fantasy's new mule foal, I am happy about the Spring preview weather. I would like to think it is here to stay, but the central Oregon winter is most certainly not over and is sure to make another appearance before the real Spring shows up. I hope I get proved wrong. ;)

Nice stories and pictures, Angel. Our winter has kept me from riding this year. We have had a winter of extremes with the ice being the worst problem. Warm temps with melting snow or rain between periods of severe cold have kept a base layer of ice prohibiting me from taking the horses from the pasture. At one point even the pasture was a sheet of ice. We have had 70+ inches of snow already where I live. Last weekend it was below 0 with 50 mph winds. Today it is raining, over deep snow and it is supposed to get into the teens and 20's again for the rest of the week so more ice!Two years ago I rode more in the winter than I did in the summer. We have mosquitoes and deer flies that make life miserable if we have any humidity which is much of the time. Farmers Almanac predicts an early spring with record heat for the summer. UGH!

We have been riding here in Mesa, AZ, till Friday then we had so much rain, we now have to wait till it dries out. If I knew how to post pictures here I would put up the pictures of Jim riding Riddle, and Stormy.

Nola, if you have the pictures on photobucket, all you have to do is copy the IMG link and paste it in the message and it will post the pic.
