What we have here is a seller who's happy to mislabel his merchandise.

He calls the guitar DEAD MINT and then goes on to admit it has dings and the finish is 'crazed'. Closer inspection of the pics shows it to be heavily worn, with severe chipping and scuffs evident. Anything but DEAD MINT in fact - it's an abuse of the term to use it in describing this guitar. DEAD MINT is factory fresh/unplayed, nothing less.

Also - 'RAREST GIBSON EVER'. ??? Has he never heard of the original Futura? The '58 Moderne?

Impossible to trust anything that this seller says, I'm afraid. I wouldn't go near it at a fraction of his price.

Ok buddy. Find another one with color all over.

You seem to think that rare means non-production. The owner has heard of Futura, and Moderne. Modernes were never manufactured. That is really rare. There are three known Futuras.

Yeah, it's not mint, the seller has been notified about how that isn't a good representation, trust me. If you can find another '67 V in a custom color with a matching neck, I'll swim to the UK and bugger your neighbors dog.

Firstly, don't you think that prototypes such as the Futura are more deserving of the accolade of 'rarest Gibson ever'? Or perhaps the elusive transitional split-headstock Explorers? It's ridiculous to apply the description to a model which features a standard production body shape. The sale item is absurdly overpriced.

Secondly:
mint: unused or appearing to be newly made and never used.
The seller needs to get a grasp of English and tailor his hyperbole accordingly.

And thirdly: this is a board comprised of a small and friendly community who share useful information and look out for one another. Bringing that kind of attitude to the table will win you no friends here.

MY GUITAR

So, as I said the seller is on notice for the "mint" thing.

You are rediculous. Find another sparkling burgundy neck and all, and I'll kiss your dog's shaved rear end.

I don't need friends. Thanks! I also won't be coming back here, thanks again. I have a Futura. Thanks again.

If I'm not mistaken, Marc bought an original 67 in Burgandy last year.
Yep.

Lol, nice one Veeman that didn't take long.

Reeltarded, the posterior of my neighbour's dog is available for your tender ministrations at your soonest convenience. Have at it, with my compliments.

And as a final thought, who entrusts the sale of a guitar priced at $80k to an e-merchant rated at less than 100%? Is the fact of being in a global recession supposed to make us even more careless with our money?
It's a crazy world out there...

is Marc's neck not coloured?  Looks natural in the pic, but hard to tell.

I think its just the poor lighting. Love the binding though.

not sure but it looks natural to me.
looks like the dog may have to wait for that a** kissing :p
i guess only marc can clear this up.
i wasn't even aware of the unfinished neck option on the '67.

Someone needs a hug..

To me it really looks like the neck on Marc's is unfinished just like the KK signature. Black back of the headstock. Didn't know this either. It clears why some of the custom reissues have natural necks.

The necks on the Downing V's aren't exactly unfinished. They have the clear coat on them. I steel wooled most of it off on mine. It was so sticky. They also have the stinger back of headstock.
