The show is the main event of the year in DK and the biggest north of the german border ie Scandinavia. The main sponsor is Fender Scandinavia. The exhibitors come mainly from DK and then there was some from Sweden and one who was from Norway I guess. Didn’t notice any germans - what a pity. In the process I had to speak Swedish, Norwegian, English (information is most accurate when you get it in the original language) and of course Danish. To my daughter it’s the yearly excursion to go see daddy’s old friends that we sometime see in stores and remember from daddy’s former bands. Pictures are snapped by my daughter with my mobile phone.
Here‘s a view of the main floor. Find the V.
The Brimstone is reserved for me I’m being told on arrival (I’ll take that as it wasn’t so sellable as he thought on arrival months ago, he he). So here it is. Hmmmm. They’ve literally cut some corners or carved all the edges if you like.

The testing is basically three parts: - God bless Texas. Impossible to play on some guitars. Lower end. - Tapping. Don’t know how a guitar is supposed to be adjusted. Either it’s ok or not. Middle and high strings. - some fiddling around above the 12th fret including a chord or two. High end. If there’s something wrong with the fret board it only takes 60 seconds to find out if you’re quick about it.
 Hey, what's this?
Ok, this is better. Low action. Rattles evenly all over. Suspect the nut is set too low (thought it only could happen to fadeds). Weight about 6 1/2 lb. Nice piece. Only one in DK as far as I know.
I already knew there was going to be a ‘58 RI. Asking price DKK 50k/$9500. Tested it had to be. Weight about 7 lb.

 OK! This is FUN.
Awesome! Now, that is what I call a guitar. If there's a blond high density mahogany in a quality called Korina this must be it.
And all the case candy is still there.
This makes it #95 of the first series from '82. Correct?
In the adjacent rooms there were plenty of exhibitions of loads of irrelevant items by Fender and loads of other standard stuff like LP’s and so on and so on. Booring. But then, what the F#¤% is that over that corner? Yezzzzz.
Now that's what I call a good guitar. Reminds me of my '80 silverburst but God Bless Texas is easier on this one.
 Oops, what is this?
It's in need of a fret dressing above the 14th fret. Brass nut is maybe original but not so sure about that. Asking price $3900.
Then the weirdest thing happens. So home we go. On the way to the parking lot 1/2 mile away I spot someone on the other side of the street carrying a brown Flying V case. I hurry over to him. Present myself and ask if I may see the guitar. This is so much 'Oh my god!': '93 Custom Shop '67 RI. On its way to the new owner. $2400.

The pu's come from a '60's LP. The turtle shell plastic is pretty rare hence the price.
First time ever I've had the privilege to touch both a V2 and the '58 RI.
Truly an interesting day out with my daughter.
