It's really a matter of taste. I've thrown 3 sets with the 500T into the spares box.
Seymour Duncan Antiquities are my absolute fave. Great for nondistorted sounds.
The Classic '57 are a bit more 'open' in comparison.
... and their outputs matches reasonably with my Strat.

Nice guitar. Kinda special with all that brass. My guess is, the brigde pu is a DiMarzio Distortion+ and maybe the neck is a Bill Lawrence? In short, the ultimate '79 modification. Saw that mod done some times in my childhood peeping into the room with the luthiers bench at the local store.
If I were you I'd probably go for a set of Seth Lover's or Classic ยด57 + some yellow/gold witch hat knobs (if possible).
