The races are run on indexes. You get to make two time trials and then a qualifying pass. You must select which class you are going to qualify for and designate that as your dial-in. If your car is running in the 11.50, then that would be the class you will qualify in. Whoever runs the closest to their index is deemed the #1 qualifier. If you run under the index, it will put you to the back of the pack. ( if there are 16 cars and you are the only one under the index, you qualify #16 )
Being #1 qualifier earns you more contengiency awards. The races are run on a ladder so you will always know who your competition is next round.
It is a real challenge to keep your car running on your index. No changing dial in's to compensate for weather changes etc.
A/NMC 10.50
B/NMC 11.00
C/NMC 11.50
D/NMC 12.00
E/NMC 12.50
F/NMC 13.00
G/NMC 13.50
H/NMC 14.00
I/NMC 14.50

Sounds like there might be a problem in there....... OUCH!
Get it yanked out and tear it apart so you can clean everything real good. Don't want to leave anything behind.

Yeah the heartbreaker got me good at the tree. He beat me and I ran dead on my dial. Crap I hate gettin busted in the first round. Mike my car is a whorenet, not a concorde! It's a 77 whorenet/amx. My oil pressure is dropping now. I took the pump apart last night,{it's external, like a olds or pontiac} but found no problems there, cut open the oil filter, didn't find too much, but the oil has a metallic sheen to it. Guess i'll hafta keep looking. I hope I can get it fixed before june.

Folks...a little note about that guy with the 68 Cougar.......We first met Tony when he came to one of our end of season parties with his FE powered truck......he promptly backed it off the trailer and blew it to smithereeeeeeeens......hung most of it out the side of the block........we knew we were gonna like this guy!
Better known as "Heartbreaker"...Tony Malone is one serious racer. Tread lightly!
Tony and his crewchief "wife"...both take racing very serious and never stop diggin'.......always ready to help a fellow racer...and always ready to race.

Tony, Spud was driving the other household appliance...... the red Concord AMX.
Spud, lemme know if you ever want to make a trek out to Frisco and meet the crew at Texas Thunder and the home of the Outsiders. You will fall right in place with these guys..... bein' Texan and all.

Well i sure plan on stickin around. I qualify as both texan and outsider. And I like laughs too. Bet ya'll didn't know that, a serious sumbitch like me. where do we go for outsiders news? and if we wanna race with the outsiders, do we join a club. that racer that smoked me at redline last weekend in the 68 cougar had outsider's logo's on his ride. I sure would like to be on his side.
Which car was you? I had to go 6 rounds to win the Pro Muscle class. I have the 68 Cougar and my name is Tony. The Outsides are a good group of folks. You will like them.

Well......welcome all to the "new" Texas Thunder Performance/Texas Outsiders forum.....Mike has again surprised us by offering this forum for our use.....
As many of you might have guessed, we here at Texas Thunder Perf. are seriously into the Nostalgia racing. We specialize in building and racing Nostalgia Super Stock and Nostalgia Muscle Cars. We race using the Pro/Edelbrock (NMCA) rules and these rules are also used not only by the Texas Outsiders Racing Series, but all Monster Mopar events also. We have just recently negotiated a new venue....the LoneStar Shootout in Houston...This event has been a club affair down there, and an all MOPAR event.. For the first time this year it has been turned over to promoters......D&M Productions have agreed to include NSS and NMC into the lineup. They have also guaranteed a sizeable payout for both classes. This will be the second weekend in October and we are using this event as our Texas Outsiders Series Finale...It will be a double points race and we expect NSS and NMC cars from all across the country to be there. We will have more info soon on this event and all of our Texas Outsiders Racing Series events. Check the www.texasoutsiders.com site for schedule and rules.
Membership in the Texas Outsiders is $100 per year. Most "Outsiders" received over $3000 in contingencies last season and we again are using the Contingency Connection . Last year we were guaranteed $50,000 in contingencies...before it was all over, we had awarded over $96,000 in prizes.......This season we started with the guarantee of $50,000......it was upped to $100,000 and Jackie Ressa of The Contingency Connection has just informed me that over $146,000 is avaliable.

Yup...... a man with several identities!
You will notice the lack of pop-up ads and any other advertisements.
You will also notice some of the categories "have last post by" under the heading but no message when you take a peek. That is because I started this forum to replace the AMC Forums that closed last saturday and I put this one up as a backup when it closed. I have removed all of the previous messages. There is another forum up for them now so I will put this one to good use.....
