Last year at the FE Nats in Noble -- Dallas was awarded a trophy for a 1st in NMC and another for the Quickest RT.He's very proud of those trophies. However this year at the FE Nats in Holt, there were no trophy awards given out for NSS and NMC. Moreover, on the Emerald Raceway web site -- they list the winners of every class except NMC and NSS. I'm sure this is old hat to many of you that have won NSS and NMC events -- but this was the first event I'd ever won in my life and it was pretty anti-climatic. Win, Load up, head out, and see the winners of every other class but your son and your's listed. Don't get me wrong I'm not crying, and I actually wasn't going let my first win and Dallas' second go without some little rememberence -- so I sprung for the trophies I felt like the track should have had -- and it didn't break me.My point is more of that maybe we (the Texas Oustsiders racing in NSS & NMC) ought to consider throwing in $5-$10 a rattle for a trophy fund -- and have nice little trophies complete with our Texas Outsider's logo (I guess we need one of those lol) for our three or four events a year for the members winning those events. If you took 1st in one of the few NSS or NMC events -- you'd like to have a $50 trophy to remember it by wouldn't you? This stuff is pretty cheap on the Internet.Y'alls thoughts?

well log in there dude.

Seen recent photos of your old Aspen?

It run a 12.3 the only time to a 1/4 so far -- but there's another .3-.4 left in tuning to get it into the 12.0 class. Buildup photos are at http://www.daveschultz.com/palbum/showgallery.php?cat=514

Damn right I want to promote my son -- any father with a son who tried as hard as Dallas has to make his father proud would have done the same. lol

Seriously though, if each trophy had the previous year's winning car, it would be one more little bennie for the people who show to all of the races to shoot for.

Geez.........you guys are tough!

First Dave wants to promote his son and then Mark becomes a color critic!

Using the previous years winner isn't a bad idea. The Mopar club has used the car of the year on the last few car show plaques.

How bout a yeller Ford Mark?

That's Kool -- but what I think would be even more Kool is what HMCC (Houston's Mopar Club) does. Each year the event's T-Shirts are of the previous year's winners. So that would be a 62 Ford in NSS and a 72 Demon in NMC.

    http://www.daveschultz.com/palbum/showgallery.php?cat=584

That would be a pretty big incentive to win -- and might get more people to make more races.

Mark I can get the plaques done by the guy that does the Mopars clubs plaques for 10-14 bucks each. I can do the art work and they are printed using disublimation to burn the image onto the plaque...... comes out in full color. If you have seen some of the car show plaques you know what I am talking about.

My softball team like to also give the "Biggest Dick" award. We have this squirt tip water bottle shaped like a big penis. The guy with the worst batting average for the night has to carry it in his bag until the next week's games.

We might want to think of some kind of Hard Luck plaque or flag that has to be hung on the trailer of someone until it is presented to the next winner.

    http://www.allstar-awards.com/acrylic/index.html

This is where I ordered mine over the Internet, I actually spent a couple of hours looking for the best deal -- this place appears to have it. The only thing that I could have done different is to have submitted a Logo -- if the Texas Outsiders had one. Mike is the best in the graphics department -- and could whip up a good TO logo for trophies.

I was just throwing it out there -- but I'll bet if we took up a $10 per racer collection, we'd have more than enough for the rest of the TO races this year. Optionally, a way to do it is to have it come out of the winner's winnings. For instance at Holt we all threw $50 in the pot for the prize and I think I scored $350 -- you could rake back $25 and award $325 to cover the trophy.

That site has the clear ones for as little as $23 with engraving (including logo) and shipping. Come up with a logo and order 2 NMC and NSS for the balance of the season and we can have or our nice awards ceremony. If the tracks that booked us had any class -- they'd include those trophies with the others they award. However, it appears we can't depend on them and should do our own.
