Just finished moding an old '65 melody maker. this guitar was really butchered, and any collector value was long gone. i have a couple of these already, so decided to have fun with it. i got a mini humbucker from a '69 les paul, and had it rewound to 10.2K with 4 conductor wiring. to coil tap i have a push/pull on the volume. here are some photos:before-

Another stunning mod from Axmaker.

Russ, can you tell me about how you cut the wings off the original body? I picture a table saw, but it seems like the body would be kind of unwieldy to feed into the blade.

there are all kinds of old melody makers on ebay that are just stripped to the bone.  you can get one usually for about 3 bills us....

i have a gibson worn cherry flying v. i fell in love with it from the start. sad to say she's acting up and not staying in tune to well. i had it set up a couple months ago and it was doing great until recently. any suggestions about upgrades for the machineheads or anything else. would appreciate any feedback
