I'm using my squire tele as the basis for my first project. Going to replace the body with a thinline and finish it in tung oil. I want to refinish the neck in tung oil also. What grit sandpaperwould be good to sand down the original finish on the neck?

I'd start with 220 just to scuff it and slowly cut with 320. Finish off with 400 to really smooth it. If you can use tung oil like danish oil, 'wet' sand the neck with 400 dipped in oil..I never tried this with tung oil, just danish, wipe off and dry.
