All,

Ever since I saw the youtube video for the Fender Custom Shop Andy Summers Telecaster, I've wanted it.

But it's $10k, and I'm not spending that kind of money on a guitar. So my plan is to buy an Fender American Standard Telecaster and mod the ever-living hell out of it. Here's what I've found so far on the net:

- Brass bridge
- Schaller Tuner
- Mint Green Pickguard
- Gibson '57 Classic Plus Humbucker

I'm still kind of lost on what preamp/overdrive to use. I found the EMG Afterburner, but I don't know if this will provide the sound I'm looking for. Any ideas? Any input is appreciated!

Thanks!  I actually already have that page saved.  :)  I've been at this for a while, and still can't find anyone who knows what the preamp is.  If I keep digging, I'm bound to find gold sometime.

Since the Andy Summers Tribute is a modified Custom Telecaster, you'll probably add cream binding on your American Standard Telecaster guitar and buy a 21-fret replacement neck from Warmoth. Other important note: the Andy Summers Tribute Tele uses a 21-fret neck, while the American Standard a 22-fret neck with medium jumbo frets and the BiFlex truss-rod system.

Thanks for the help, guys!  I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for this guitar, but I'm having a hell of a hard time.

Thank you!  Actually, it's funny, because I found this yesterday as well.  I'll be having the actual Guitar Electronic people wiring and assembling my guitar, so I know it'll come out right!
