Hey there. I'm working on my first tele and I have ordered all the parts for various sources. I ordered an American standard body on ebay and most of the hardwear from Warmoth including the Gotoh 6 saddle Bridge that is giving me the trouble. It's a modern standard bridge but since Fender has changed the bridges in the new American Standards the screw holes dont match up to the one i purchased. I've looked around and I dont think Fender is selling the new bridges yet and I dont want to have to wait until the new bridges are on the market to assemble this guitar. I wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for maybe ordering a bridge plate that has had no drilling into is and doing it myself to like (not eve sure if they sell these) or re-drilling the body and bridge plate i have now so that all the holes line up. this would mean i would also have to route out part of the body where the bridge pickup sits because the string holes are a few mm further up on this body to accomodate the new bridge. I'm worried this might affect my intonation if i mount the bridge closer to the neck and i have access to a good router but am not sure what might happen to the finnish if bring the router to it. So if anyone has any suggestions they'd be much appreciated I've bitten off a little more than i can chew but  can't wait to play a guitar that i have built and customized.
Thanks

Just about every aftermarket bridge I have seen is done to the "vintage" specs and will not work with the american std body.  They only one I know of (And it a good one) is the www.callahamguitars.com makes just for that body.  I have used two of them and really like them.  I seem to remember when faced with the same issue, the pickup location vs the string holes was a little off too.  That is what scared me away from pluging the screw
holes and re drilling.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply it's much appreciated.
I think I might have found a suitable replacement on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.ca/TELECASTER-TELE-BRIDGE-CHROME-FOR-FENDER-GUITAR-NEW_W0QQitemZ300234127268QQihZ020QQcategoryZ41407QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262
I hope it works cause I've gone ahead and ordered it. I think it should fit ok  I'm a little worried about the quality but at least i'll be able to play this guitar I've been salivating over before fender decides to put these bridges out as parts.
I found this one 10 minutes after I ordered a deluxe bridge i was gonna modify bringing my current total of bridges to 3. Chalk it up half to inexperiance and half to being like an impatient kid at christmas. anyways appreciate the help i'll let you know it it works out. and let me know if anyone needs either a Gotoh bridge or fender deluxe bridge. Thx

I have a smiliar question.  I'd like to put a Callaham Vintage T bridge on my Mexican standard.  I know You can't with the new American standard, but will I have the same problem with my '06 MIM Tele?
