Hello EveryoneMy husband & I have been mullling this over & I told him I could come here for great advice...We have a 4 year old female "Katie" who is the sweetest tender hearted girl - we couldn't ask for a more loving companion, and smart...she learns the name of a new toy and can single it out of dozens of others within a day. Then there's "Spencer" - he is 10 mos old, he's a little spit fire, almost the exact opposite of Katie. Spencer's conformation, according tot he breed standard, is beautiful. Katie on the other hand, (when comparing to the breed standard) has flaws. I guess I should get to my point... We would LOVE to have a daughter out of Katie that reflects the personality of Katie along with the conformation of Spencer. We have no interest in breeding for profit and the (non existant) puppies have been spoken for within our family should we decide to breed. We'd have both Spencer & Katie spayed/neutered after the one litter.Here's our dilema - Katie is VERY sensitive, for instance - my husband was broiling steaks, the smoke alarm in the house went off & she has never forgotten it - now whenever we open the oven door she runs outside and will stay there until we are done with the oven... Our concern is that she won't handle delivering puppies well, that she'd become frightened and panic.What to do? We are taking this very seriously...that's why I am here.Thank you in advance for any advice
