Hi everyone,With Spring coming and the discussions of dogs off leash...I've been thinking about Spring Hiking. I've been hiking with this group a few times last fall, and am looking forward to trying some spring hikes and perhaps even a summer canoe trip. If you live in the GTA, Ontario, Canada or like to visit up this way, I urge you to check it out. I have found the groups to be a fun group and the guides to be knowlegeable and organized. The dogs walk/run in a pack up and down the trail with the hikers walking in a pack behind/in front of them. The dogs I've met have been well socialized and the walking/hiking keeps them focussed on other things/smells so trouble rarely breaks out. The one time that trouble can be an issue, (lunches) they recommend that you leash your dog near you. The hikes vary from fairly easy to more strenuous, and there are lots of breaks for people and dogs...many organized near bodies of water for the dogs to do some swimming. (All food, water, and equipment if needed is provided and carried for you) If you believe a tired dog is a good dog...you have to know that after one of these hikes, you will have a very tired, happy dog. (And I'm usually up for a good long nap myself!)Check it out! Georgie and I would love to run into some more MS's on the hikes!http://www.dogpaddlingadventures.com/Marg
