Okay, I have a stupid question and I dont think there is anything I can do, but was just wondering, My pongo has uncropped ears but they stand up like a bats, is there anyway to make them fold over?I know...I know....stupid question.
Nope, too late. And actually, since ears go up due to a dog's genetics, there is nothing you could have done anyway.

I've always wondered, if the ears stay up, can they be cropped in adulthood?

In Europe we are with a lot of experience with non-cropped ears. Dog's genetics is most important but in growing phase owner can help ears not to go up . Dog should be young or a puppy. I will put the photos as soon as I put them on the internet and I will try to translate explanation ...

I have found that if the ears are not glued or taped from 8weeks it can be very difficult to get them to stay in the correct posture. Especially puppy's with very thin ears. Normally the rule of thumb would be as the cartilage developes and is soft and moveable that is the best time to try and get the correct head set.
good luck with your beautiful puppy

Pongo is a very cute dog. The ears may not be breed standard, but they add character! If you are not showing him, then maybe the ears will be something you will love more over time. I can see Pongo saying "all the better to hear you with" (like the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood).

Charlie has natural ears that fold over most of the time. However, if he is listening and is facing the wind his ears go up (the bat ears). It looks like he is listening very intently to what the wind is saying.

Yes, he is cute. My Jessie sported some very, very incorrect hears, but they did turn out to be such an indearing part of her make-up. They didn't stick straight up like some you see--she sort of reminded me of the flying nun, if you can imagine that. A stickler for confirmation would have cringed at them, but I just loved, loved, loved those ears:-)

Actually, if Pongo were cropped now, the length of the cropped ear would hit just about where his right ear (the one to our left) breaks and folds over. Just cover the part that folds over with your finger and you can totally envision him with cropped ears! Yes, that is exactly how much ear the cropper removes.... (well, on this dog anyway, as Pongo has large ears).

Massage the ears along where the fold in the ears should be, this can help to soften the cartiledge in that area and encourage the ears to fall from the new fold. This can take weeks of dedicated effort to see an effect but it can still be done at his age and your dog will love the few minutes of daily special time while you rub his ears. When he is alert they may still stand up though

awww i think his ears are adorable. it makes him look like he has a sweet personality. my little chi has one ear up and one ear down and the lady i got him from said tape his ear up with a tampon or something stiff but i love him to much to put him through even as little discomfort as that is. natural ears are my favorite i think it is ashame that showing here can't be like overseas with uncropped ears.
