I will be leaving Jet with friends for a long weekend and this is the first time he will be away from me and I have a couple of concerns about various thing and though people might have suggestions... 1) Jet is in the middle of his obedience training series and we have been working hard to "proof" some behaviors. Should I leave some instructions with the people he is staying with as to his specific training or avoid having them accidentally teaching him incorrectly? 2)I very much trust this couple, and they have both had dogs previously. However, is it rude to leave instructions such as "please don't let him out in your fenced in yard unless you have him on a leash"? I plan to leave a list of his feeding schedule/vet info. 3) Because this will be a new location is it better to have them leave him in his crate as opposed to a gated off small room? He is left in the kitchen at home and they have a small washroom that would have nothing dangerous in it that can be gated off. I feel like I am being overprotective of him, but he's my baby... Jenn

okay, i'll start...first and foremost, he's your dog so you can request anything you want....i would certainly ask them to leash him if that makes your feel better  (your dog)....and i would think that being friends, they would have no problem with that....2nd, i would definatly take his crate..thats his home, is comfort zone....if he has any problems being there, his crate will help....and his toys will help.  3rd. as far as his training, you can ask, and they can tell you anything there not ok with and then you go from there......I cant imagine anything that they couldnt handle if they've had there own dogs..and you said there friends, so you must trust them   He is your baby, and its our job to worry  debby

I am sure your friends will be willing to do anything you ask, I am going to be sitting a friend's dog soon and I know whatever she says goes. You are the MOMMY AND MOTHER'S KNOW BEST!

Bring toys and things from home for comfort and definitely bring the crate.

Have a fun time with what you are doing and rest assured, your dog will have a fun time as well.......
