Francisco de Miguel and his wife Elvira of Guadalajara returned to CA for the Eukanuba with their dog, the aptly-named "Sure-Star de Miguel" this week and had a wonderful wonderful visit - - -"Sure" took WD points toward his American CH on Wed. and Thurs. in the regular shows, and won Best of Breed today as an International CH entryin the Eukanuba competition. He is a lovely dog with Annfield Oh For Sure behind him. So it's a very interesting thing - Canadian line dog raised in Mexico wins BOB atAmerican National Championship!!!It was my pleasure to get to know Francisco and Elvira at Great Western in June, and I believe they also attended Montgomery County in October. But this was theweek thattruly paid off for them! They are both enthusiastic, warm and energeticwith their dogs and I wish them continued good luck! If you watched the program tonight on TV you will have seen Francisco and Sure - and they did a very nice job. It's so much fun to watch someone you know come from "out there" to win a really big one unexpectedly.Best of Opposite was the CH Regency's Black N Bling Bling, shown to perfection by Bev Verna.Awards of Meritwent toCH Sterling Ugly from the Front (Lyle) and CH Lion'L A Train of Hansenhaus (Casey) and a 3rd to another dog from Mexico (I believe) Jeos the Gladiator.Interestingly there was a black natural-ear dog from Argentina (the only black shown) in the class. All of the MS shown were beautiful and very deserving of their day as participants in the National Championship.I enjoyed myself immensely standing ringside and seeing all these lovely dogs. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this outstanding representation of our breed! To see all the breed results, use this link:http://www.akc.org/nationalchampionship/index.cfm?section=breed_resultsTania
