Hi. We have just adopted/ rescued a 20 mth. old male mini schnauzer. Beaumont is salt and pepper .On his back are several large patches of brown. Which are rather course compared to the rest of his coat.We have him on " Go" kibble (made in B.C. Canada) a high end product. Also he gets ground fresh veg.  salmon oil and vit. E. Right now he is on the pumpkin diet , he was alittle over weight. His coat has gotten a bit of shine to it in just a mth. Any idea what might be causing this. Grannyj

Hi Gran :

I recall seeing another M/S with "twinges" of brown in her coat too...& oddly enough, that dog also came from a "difficult" situation.

Although I've not seen that dog (a good playmate for our little girl) for some time now, (a friend who moved away owns her) as I understand it...diet & time reduced the brownish bits along her back.

Of course, since I'm no expert...I'm really not the person who should be passing along advise about what to do about such things...but perhaps some others here can suggest an alternate food that may be of help for the situation.

Good luck to you.

P.
